ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) specializing in individual and substance abuse therapy.
With over fifteen years of experience as a therapist, and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas Woman's University (BA Psychology) and the University of North Texas (MS Rehabilitation Counseling), I am currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are mood disorders, women's issues, adolescent issues, substance abuse counseling and assessments, anger management, and multicultural issues.
I have a multitude of experience in settings including a public mental health agency, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, the legal court system, and university student counseling services. In addition, I have presented to general audiences speaking on the topics of domestic violence, mood disorders, multicultural awareness, and the dynamics of substance abuse.
I also created a Smart Girls Speak Group dedicated to helping female adolescents explore relevant real life issues facing them today in our rapidly changing society.I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
